There is a new product called “The Square” built for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad. The device can be attached to any mobile device that has an audio jack for head phones. This product will be made available through iTunes for the iPhone and iTouch at the end of April, 2010. Every iPhone, iTouch and iPad has the ability to download the application when in the vicinity of a wireless network. Once downloaded, these devices have the capability of being used for ”skimming”.

As there were more than 37 million iPhones and iPod Touches sold in the first quarter of 2009 alone, this could readily put a very small skimmer in someone’s hand. More information can be found on this product at www.squareup.com.
