Battle Creek-based OMNI Community CU has announced it will return a dividend to its 33,000 members for the second consecutive year. How much of the $750,000 "cashback rebate" a member will receive is based on their loans and deposits with the credit union.

“We have always emphasized the importance of recognizing our members for trusting us as their primary financial institution, said OMNI Community CU CEO Ted Parsons. "Instead of just saying so, we do something to show it.”
Qualifying members will receive an extra .22 percent back on their 2009 average yearly loan and account balances, up from .20 percent in last year's dividend. Qualifying loans include auto loans, credit cards, home equity loans, mortgages, savings accounts, money market accounts, checking accounts, certificates of deposit, and non-investment IRA balances.

The credit union has also created a Web site, www.omnicashback.com, for members to calculate their rebate and potential members to calculate how much of the dividend they would receive if they transferred their existing accounts to OMNI Community CU.
After this year, OMNI Community CU will have given back more than $1.4 million to its members through special dividends.
