OMNI Community Credit Union announced the $2,000 McCulley Scholarship.  The non-renewable scholarship will be awarded to one graduating high-school senior that has excelled academically, and has demonstrated a true commitment to serving their community. 

The scholarship is dedicated in memory of Bobby J. McCulley.  Bobby served in a variety of roles in the last twenty years as a volunteer with OMNI:  He was on the Board of Directors at Ralston Purina Credit Union and then was elected to the Credit Committee in 1984 when Ralston and OMNI merged.  In 1988 he was elected to the Board of Directors at OMNI.  He has since fulfilled many roles including Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Board as well as Chairman of the policy, personnel, and building committees.  He was dedicated to staying abreast of current credit union trends and continuing his education through regular conference attendance and completing all of the VAP/VLP home study education modules.

“Bobby was a true champion not only for OMNI, but also the credit union movement,” said Ted Parsons, CEO of OMNI Community Credit Union.  Parsons also noted “He was so supportive of growing the organization and rewarding team members for their contribution here.  We all truly appreciated his leadership on the Board, and wish to memorialize his commitment through this scholarship.”

All graduating high-school seniors who wish to apply can visit us online at www.omnigivesback.org.  All applications must be received by June 1, 2010.  All applicants who have already applied through our normal scholarship program will be considered for The McCulley Scholarship as well.  Membership is required.
