It is a convenient place to store important items that would be difficult or impossible to replace.  The safe deposit box also offers privacy (only you know what is inside) and security.  Although many people like to keep valuables at home, it is probably not as resistant to fire, water, or theft.  Also, some insurance companies charge lower insurance premiums on valuables kept in a bank's safe deposit box instead of at home.

No one but you or your authorized joint member shall have access to the Safe Deposit Box.  Access to the Safe Deposit Box will be by your signature or by the signature of your duly joint member, filed with us.  If you wish to appoint a joint member for access to the Safe Deposit Box, we require all of you to sign our signature card form for that purpose.  All persons having access to the Safe Deposit Box, individually or with others, shall have control of the contents with full authority to add to or remove from the contents.  This authority shall continue and remain in full force and effect until notice in writing of any changes or revocation is given to us where the leased Safe Deposit Box is located.

The Safe Deposit Box may only be used for storage of personal property in your lawful possession and for lawful purposes.  The Safe Deposit Box may not be to used to store noxious, explosive, flammable, perishable or other items that may create a nuisance or health hazard or violate any regulation or law, or weapons, or cash.
